If you're searching for a church home in the Lynchburg area, we'd love to meet you.

Freedom Word Church sits just east of Lynchburg in Spout Spring — about a 15-minute drive out Route 460. Many of our church family make that drive every Sunday, and they’ll tell you it’s worth it. What they find here is a congregation small enough that people know your name, and Spirit-filled enough that you leave different than you came.

A Spirit-Filled Church Within Easy Reach of Lynchburg

We’re a Pentecostal, Word of Faith church. That means our services are alive — vibrant worship, the freedom to praise, and space for the Holy Spirit to move. It also means our teaching is practical. Pastor Greg Mayhorn preaches the Word in a way you can actually take home and use on Monday morning.

If you’re coming from Lynchburg and you’ve been looking for something that isn’t a big-crowd experience — where you’re a face, not a number — that’s exactly what you’ll find here.

What Your First Visit Looks Like

Come as you are — you’ll see everything from jeans to Sunday best, and you’ll fit right in. Our greeters will meet you at the door, help you find your way, and introduce you to a few people. Children’s ministry is available, so your kids have somewhere to go that’s built for them.

No pressure. No spotlight on the visitor. Just a church family that’s genuinely glad you came.

See What to Expect

When you arrive

01    Park right out front — there’s plenty of it, and no shuttle.
02    A greeter meets you at the door and walks you where you need to go.
03    Check your kids into Children’s Ministry, then find a seat anywhere.
